Seth Swoonage
PLEASE STOP the SETH GODIN Worship!
When I saw someone tweet about a widget for “What Would Seth Do?”, I decidedly had enough.
It’s also the very thing that will keep some people from listening to him. The fact that many people in his tribe follow him as if he’s an A-listed Shepard are going to keep some of the people he’s trying to speak to from looking through all the hype.
Who cares that it’s “SETH”, tell us WHY it’s good, or that you recommend it. When all you show is mere SETH Swoonage, you cheapen the man and what he’s saying. It comes off as giddy and star struck.
I’m reading the book Tribes and enjoying the small bite-size chunks of concepts. The differentiation between Leadership and Management is tops. The toppling of ‘the man’ is something that will always speak to me, loudly.
What are you liking about Tribes?
